In 1974 Audrey and Jeff Hornblower got their start in the restaurant industry when they opened a small pizzeria in the Olean area in western New York state. Their daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Damon Yorke, moved to Northeast Ohio in 1993 and soon found they missed the food they had come to love back home. When a vacant Westlake building came to their attention, they decided it would be the perfect location for a restaurant, and the family founded A&J's Grill on Detroit Road in 2002. We visited with Audrey recently, and listened as she provided this overview of A&J's menu and services;
A&J's Grill is a full-service restaurant serving lunch and dinner six days a week. Our menu includes a wide variety of soups, wonderful salads, sandwiches, subs, wraps, pitas, pizzas, wings, chicken tenders, and finger foods, although we are best known for our fantastic steak subs, burgers, and pizza. We never cut corners on cost, and strive to serve the very best food you can imagine.
We are a very child-friendly restaurant and on Saturdays are filled with families. We provide a small, cozy atmosphere where everyone can be comfortable as they enjoy some of the best food they have ever had. We offer dine-in and carry-out service in addition to party trays for business meetings and personal gatherings.
In 2004 we purchased a building across from Pat Catan's on Center Ridge Road where we opened The Stonehouse Grill. The Stonehouse Grill serves not only the same exceptional burgers and salads you will find at A&J's Grill, but also steaks, pasta, and seafood wrapped in an atmosphere of friendliness and outstanding service.
